Overview
Medveczky Associates (MA), a Woman-Owned Small Business, is an established engineering firm that provides consulting, design, and construction inspection services to governmental, institutional and private sector clients. Since its inception in 1984 the firm has gained prominence with their design of over 200 projects throughout Pennsylvania. The Medveczky Team, comprised of civil engineers, hydrologists, certified construction inspection personnel, environmental scientists, CAD technicians, and surveyors, is committed to serving clients with professionalism, integrity and cost-effectiveness while using the latest technology to produce creative and enduring solutions that are responsive to the community and sensitive to the natural environment.
The Pennsylvania firm has designed, reviewed and/or inspected projects ranging from large multi-family residential developments in rural areas to the re-development of industrial sites in Pennsylvania's aging communities; from the preparation of master plans in and around regional golf courses to providing expert testimony at public hearings; from permitting for individual driveways to the design of highway travel lane realignment, turning lanes and shoulder widening; from the design of storm sewer collection systems to the design of single span bridges in exceptional value watersheds. The wide array of projects has provided the professional staff at MA noteworthy experience in the planning, engineering design and inspection in all aspects of civil/site, water resources, utility and transportation infrastructure. MA's municipal engineering experience encompasses numerous plan reviews, ordinance development and compliance construction inspection. Since becoming a registered business partner with PennDOT in 2005, MA has provided qualified support staff and inspectors on construction projects throughout PennDOT Districts 5 and 6.
MA's years of experience working with local, state and federal review agencies in securing project approvals has refined the firm's ability to quickly and accurately assess the permit requirements for each project, a daunting exercise in the continually escalating regulatory environment we now live in. With outstanding results, the company has secured countless permit approvals for Highway Occupancy Permits for Site Entrances; Utility Location/Relocation and Highway Re-alignment and Lane Widening projects. MA is well versed in PA DEP Chapter 105 Waterway Regulations and Joint Permit applications with US ACOE and has obtained permits and approvals for single span bridges, earthen dams; culvert replacements and wetland encroachments. Approvals obtained by MA from FEMA comprise LOMRs and CLOMRs for re-delineation of 100-year flood plains and establishment of floodways. On all projects where earth disturbance is in excess of one acre, MA has obtained the required 'Letter of Adequacy' from County Conservation Districts for Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans and, more recently, NPDES NOI Approval from PA DEP. With the current emphasis on the use of BMPs for Post Construction Storm water Management, MA has designed and obtained approval of innovative BMPs for numerous projects including two nominated for the Chester County Conservation District BMP Tour.
